Clan management suggestions
Couple of things I think would make it easier to manage your clan would be to have a link that says "My Clan" next to the "My Profile" link when you log in. Right now If I'm browsing the site and want to go back to my clan's page I have to clikc my profile and then click on my clan. The only problem I could see is if you are a member of more than one clan???

Also, if you are the clan creator it'd be nice to have a link to edit clan profile next to the form manager and member manager links. Right now if I want to edit our profile I have to go to edit profile and then edit clan page.

This isn't a suggestion, just a question. Is there a way to get the screen shot widget on your profile or is that still in the works. I think that looks really awsome!

Whether you think you can or you think you can't, you're probably right.

RE: Clan management suggestions
Yes, another link for editing my clan profile would be a good idea - not sure if I can do a "my clan" link - unless I make it a drop down for multiple clans - that might work.

Yes there's a way to add the slideshow right now, but don't be surprised if I break that way in the next few days. I'm still working on the color themeing.

Add the server variable $SLIDESHOW$ to somewhere in your layout.

RE: Clan management suggestions
Okay, the control box for a clan will now show "Edit Layout" for the owner of the clan that takes you directly to the clan layout editor. Thanks!

Okay, here ya go...

I've added drop-down menus to the "Clan" and "Edit Profile" options in the top bar. The Clan menu will give you the search option, and list all the clans you're in for instant click-through.

RE: Clan management suggestions
Kind of related here--Once a clan is created, is it possible to transfer ownership to another member? (and if not, is that a feature that could be added in the future?)

RE: Clan management suggestions
Not yet, Keldros. That is a feature that will be implemented at some point however. I've not yet started on it though, so it might be a bit.

If you need to transfer a clan ownership right now, I could do that manually in the database for you.

RE: Clan management suggestions
Thanks, but I don't need it just yet.

I just wanted to make sure it was possible before starting some clan forums here.

Our old clan site has an inactive admin, so frequent downtime has become an issue...I just wanted to make sure the org wouldn't have to go hunting yet again whenever I hand leadership over to someone else.

RE: Clan management suggestions
OK, one more question from me about clan forums:

I want to set up a few additional forums where clan officers can discuss policies without boring other members to death. How do I go about this?

Is there a way to customize read permission similar to what can be done with post permission, or would we have to create a second "clan" just for the officers?

(Ideally I'd like to categorize people as "Everyone", "member", "veteran", or "board member")

RE: Clan management suggestions
There's no read permissions (like the posting permissions) controls at this time.

Creating a second "clan" owned by one of the other members would certainly get around that limitation until we implement a system like that.

At the time I hadn't considered that as a need, but it makes sense.
